New NIGHTSEA Light Head Adapter for the Keyence VH-Z100 Lens

We are pleased to announce the availability of a new accessory for our systems for adding fluorescence to the Keyence series of digital microscopes. The new adapter for the VH-Z100 lens enables you to mount our excitation light heads in place of the Keyence light source. It attaches magnetically, exactly like the Keyence light source fixture. This directs the excitation light onto your sample from above, providing more intense illumination than directing the light in from the side.

For the time being the new adapter plus the cable you will need to connect the light head to the gooseneck lamp base will be offered as a standalone item. Starting in January 2022 it will automatically be included with orders for the version of our system for the Z100 lens. Note on Ultraviolet (UV) – The Keyence lenses do not seem to transmit Ultraviolet (UV) light well. The result is that while there is some top-down illumination when using our adapters, the focused spot is not particularly strong. For our Ultraviolet light source we recommend that you apply the light from the side for all magnifications and compare that with what you see with the light head mounted on the lens.
